It’s a collective act of remembrance, a chance to acknowledge the courage, resilience, and dedication of veterans, active service members, and their families. It’s also a reminder of the freedoms we enjoy today. Freedoms that were hard-won and must never be taken for granted.
Why Remembrance Day Matters to Us
As a local business rooted in Southern Alberta, we recognize the importance of community, history, and service. Many of our clients, neighbours, and team members have personal connections to military service, and we honour those stories with deep respect.
Whether it’s the grandfather who served overseas, the sibling currently deployed, or the neighbour who volunteers with the Legion, these connections remind us that Remembrance Day is not just about the past. It’s about the present, and the future we’re building together.
How We’re Observing Remembrance Day
This year, our team is taking time to reflect and participate in local ceremonies across Medicine Hat and surrounding communities. We’re also encouraging our staff and clients to:
- Wear a poppy as a symbol of remembrance and respect.
- Attend a local service or observe a moment of silence at 11 a.m.
- Support veterans’ organizations, such as the Royal Canadian Legion, through donations or volunteer work.
- Share stories of loved ones who served, helping keep their memories alive.
